After looking over both their breakfast(served all day) and lunch menu(starting at 11), which had a variety of sandwiches, paninis, house made soup and daily specials, I ordered Sausage gravy over biscuits and it was absolutely wonderful! The gravy was deliciously creamy and Loaded with crumbled breakfast sausage, the biscuits were great under the gravy, not soggy or flattened out under the weight of the topping. My mother ordered the Boss Hog, an omelette that comes with ham, bacon, your choice of hot, sweet or breakfast sausage and your choice of american, swiss, provalone or cheddar cheese, a side of toast AND deliciously seasoned potatoes, cooked to crispy perfection. While I did steal a good deal of her potatoes off her plate(thanks mom) I did not try her omelette(only due to my meal filling me to the gills), however, she relayed that it was the best she's had in this town and the next(whitney point). Our compliments go to the chef, Shane, who delivered our order directly to our table(the norm is to order and pick up at the counter, but they could tell my mother and I were caught up in chit-chat, how sweet and thoughtful for kitchen staff) They serve Paul DeLima coffee, always a crowd pleaser. As for the decor, the lobby has a sweet, bright and clean look. The chalkboard specialty drink menus are very well written and complete the rustic yet sharp style of the café. The man working behind the counter, Richie, in addition to being very kind, was knowledgable about prices on the gift items and wholesale the shop offers, my mother could not pass up these adorably festive sprinkles, especially with the unbeatable fair price. I highly recommend stopping in when you have the opportunity, or even making a trip out for the wonderful food and service.
We stopped by for dinner this past weekend now that they have extended their hours. Their Delmonico steak was cooked to order and melt in your mouth delicious. I also had a bite of my husbands burger and it was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful, and so nice we ate on the slower side they timed our courses perfectly. They try to focus as much on local fare as possible and we live be to support smaller local businesses. We know we will be back!
We stopped for breakfast and picked up coffee, baked goods and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was really good, but we got our food to go and it did take 10 ish minutes. Breakfast sandwich on a ciabatta was huge!
It was great to find a small town deli and market on our road trip from Rochester to Unadilla. The reuben was tasty but a little greasy. My husband had a chicken panini that was also great.
First time here because I heard good things from the locals. Glad we stopped in. The other tables we occupied which is a good sign so we took a seat by the front window on the butcher shop side. The meats are house made, they use real butter and of course real local maple syrup. It's a family business and seeing the kids part of the interaction is refreshing. Lots of orders for pancakes which looked delicious but we ordered the stinky dumpster and dumpster diver. No skimping on fresh ingredients. the sautéed mushrooms were perfect with the caramelized onions and blue cheese. The husband had meats and pepper and onion omelette. Jewish rye bread and decent home fries. Well worth the stop and pick up a pound of bacon for home. It's really good. Will stop again when in town. Nice homey feel with upscale food.
