Was my go to place when I passed by Atlanta area but absolutely not any more. Last two times horrible food, uncooked roti skin, soggy and raw doe with dry pea lacking any flavor at all. Total waste of my money especially living 7hours away and the experience stands out. Will never recommend this place nor visit. Doubles were made with no care and slapped together with no sauce and overcooked mixed with undercooked chickpeas. $80 a waste for the second time…thrown in trash.
First off my partner and I refer to the owner as Mama because of you leave here hungry that's your fault. Because Tassi Roti Shop is the best food around! I would suggest that you try the aweetcorn coo coo amazing!! Oh and make sure you get your roti skin (bread) it's amazing to use to eat your jerk chicken with!!
Usually when my husband has bright me food from here it’s 5 star, today I went there and it was a miss. I’ll give them another shot
Absolutely no way people who eat here know what authentic West Indian/Trini food taste like because this is the second time I’ve come here hoping to give this place a chance and it’s clear nobody in the south knows what seasoning and spices are. I drove over 30 minutes here many hours prior to closing to be in a sweltering restaurant (is this even legal for food storage? where nobody looked like they wanted to serve you. I don’t need smiles, I’m not friendly either but good grief. Nothing is cheap and I came here ready to spend a lot of money for specific dishes hard to find anywhere else. Roti skins? Unavailable. Doubles? Unavailable. Pholorie? Unavailable. Good grief- any respectable restaurant in NYC is selling these items well into 10pm. Anyways, I ordered the items they actually did have- oxtail meal, mauby, currant roll, and roti (shrimp and veggie . Literally every items should be recooked- did someone in the kitchen forget to put perhaps salt, shadon benny, scotch bonnet, literally ANYTHING for flavor? The roti potato channa included the skin for the potato as well ? Complete waste of my money where even the macaroni pie was void of a cheesy flavor. The Mauby was sugarless and akin to brown water. I forced myself to eat and serve this to my family because I was embarrassed of how far I drove to give them this meal. Third time is the charm they say but I won’t be even entertaining another time with them. If this place is is operating on celebrity/influencer drop ins and word of mouth of the past decade I’ve realized there’s a extreme dearth of West Indian cuisine in Atlanta and will be looking into opening my own restaurant in the near future- I know my family can do better.
