Happy Jack's Tavern - Fort Erie

Happy Jack's offers a wide range of Chinese food and all of the dishes we tasted were delicious, such as Chicken Balls, Brocolli and Beef, Rice, Egg Rolls, Shrimp, etc. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Alvin, and were very impressed. Alvin is the thrid generation owner and clearly takes the responsibility of running this long-standing, highly-reputable family restaurant seriously by providing great food and personal service. Traveling from USA to cottage in Canada for Years. This is a must stop. We have a group of 14 and they handle that without a problem. Food is OUTSTANDING as well as the prices. Each person orders a plate and we share.The 14 of us and the bill was under $200. One time we stopped at the Mandarin House and it was over $700.The Brothers that run it are nice guys, they remember us each time.

Stopped before going to Niagara Falls today for lunch. I had the chicken with cashew nuts- huge portion- didn't come with any rice, but had an order of the pork fried rice which was fabulous! So yummy!! Nice chunks of vegetables and sprouts! My daughters got the sweet and sour chicken lunch special which included wonton soup or hot and sour soup, egg roll or spring roll. You can tell they make their own egg rolls, not the frozen kind. Looking for great Chinese- this is the place to eat!!

We've dined at Chinese restaurants in Fort Erie for decades. We would normally go to May Wah, but it closed due to owner retirement. Happy Jack's had been mediocre in the past, but we decided to give it a shot. To our surprise, the food was excellent. The fried rice and beef with noodles were as good as we've ever had in a Chinese restaurant. None of the food was heavy with oil. I'm not sure whether we got lucky, but if they keep it up, they will have new regular customers. The service was fast and the owner was very friendly.

I took my family out for an excellent evening of Chinese food. We hadthe Beef with snow peas, the lemon chicken, the shrimp mixed vegetable &almonds, chicken chop suey and shrimp egg foo yong.Every thing was delicious and the service was very attentive to our needs.
