"We found this restaurant by accident, but what a find it was! A hidden gem! Situated at the bottom of a small hill just off the main road, about 4 km from Mogan, past El Hornillo (Easy to miss, look for the sign from the photo . We were drawn to it by the smell of charcoal BBQ. The whole set up is absolutely gorgeous! Pond with little fish, colourful cactuses, rustic ornaments and necklesses of dried chilies, garlic and wine corks with typical, local background music. We decided to order few dishes to try. We had cabbage leaves stuffed with rice and mince meat, grilled chorizo, proper, grilled sardines, a cheese board and a couple of beers. All absolutely delicious. The bill was around 30 Euros (incl. the tip! We were so impressed that we decided to back there for dinner. We chatted with the owner/chef Juan Carmelo who was v.friendly and recommended we try their special, typical to GC red beef. I had a 250g fillet steak and my husband 550g T-bone. We also chose a nice bottle of wine from their wine room. To top it all off Natalia, our waitress and the Juan 's wife recommended we try her home made desserts. Hmmm, see for yourself from the photos. It was so good we didn 't want it to stop. We would sincerely recommend La Ganania to everyone who enjoys proper, local, good quality produce and who loves great food. This fantastic experience made our holidays complete and we can 't wait to go back next year. Enjoy!"

"I'd heard lots about this place but had never actually been so the new chef was not a worry for me as it may have been for Grenny regulars. I can tell them now, there is no need to worry! Our meals were delicious. On...a chilly rainy night, I opted for the meal size Seafood Chowder, one of my favourites and often rather disappointing. Not this time. It came with cheesy toasted Turkish bread (rather like pizza bits and was just perfect for a late winter Noosa evening. My partner had the duck which he said was good but a little on the heavy side and another one of our party enjoyed the Pasta Marinara (thanks to an earlier review on here). It was chock full of tasty seafood rather than just being pasta with odd bits thrown in. We were all very satisfied. The point about the COVID check-in (made in an earlier review) has been sorted and there are check-in cards on each table. We took BYO wine which at corkage was very reasonable and an attraction for many I'm sure. Only a couple of points. There was quite a long wait for the food but the restaurant was busy and tbh, the quality of the food was worth the wait. Our waitress was young, inexperienced and seemed rather nervous but nonetheless quite pleasant and got the orders right so she is on the right track! All in all I would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant."
