It was my first experience with a system where you can take a number before the store opens. It was nice not to have to wait outside in the cold and be able to shop elsewhere during the wait. The limited 20-serving seafood bowl had delicious sushi rice, which I usually leave some of, but this time I couldn't stop eating even though I thought there was too much. The sashimi was arranged in abundance, with the shrimp being particularly delicious. There was one white fish that was hard to chew, but it didn't bother me. The tempura shrimp rice bowl was ordinary, but the shrimp was delicious so I was satisfied. There was also an oyster tempura on the menu, and as someone who had never tried tempura before, I found it to be tasty with the oyster miso mixed in. However, I wish it had been fried a little more as the inside felt a bit floury. It's a bit pricey, but I'm glad I went because the satisfaction outweighed the cost.
It was my first visit since the earthquake, and I tried the seasonal dishes "Hokki Meshi" and "Oyster Meshi". The flavors were as rich and delicious as they have always been, even after more than 10 years. This restaurant will continue to delight us as a symbol of seasonal cuisine in Watari-cho.
Watanuma Town in Miyagi Prefecture is famous for its salmon roe rice dishes. During the autumn salmon season, various places in the town are said to serve salmon roe rice. While there may be other delicious restaurants that are not yet well-known, "Ara Hama" is highly praised and popular in various media outlets. However, being a well-known establishment, it tends to be very crowded with tourists like myself. Even an hour before opening, there are already customers waiting. The restaurant is large, but it quickly fills up with people as well. The main attraction, the salmon roe rice, is undeniably delicious. Although a generous serving may cost over 2000 yen, it is worth every penny. It seems that prices have gone up compared to last year due to the recent shortage of salmon. The portion of salmon roe also seems to have decreased compared to last year, which may be a matter of pride for a renowned salmon roe rice restaurant. The tempura and side dishes, as well as additional orders of sushi, are also satisfying from a tourist's perspective. Apart from the salmon roe season, you can also enjoy dishes like surf clam rice or oyster rice at "Ara Hama."
お寿司、はらこ飯、何でも美味しい行列の出来る人気のお店です。 東北へ行ったら必ず伺うお店です。 お店の方々、凄く感じがいいです。 2度目のお取り寄せです。 銀じゃけのはらこ飯、冷凍で届きますが ほんとに美味しかったです。 ありがとうございます。ご馳走様さまでした。 秋の秋鮭はらこ飯も楽しみです。
10/1(金 に再訪問。 前回は連休まっただ中という日に行き行列に敗退してしまいましたが、平日昼間にリベンジ。 開店直後でしたが、平日でも既に満席。ただ、待ち行列は0ですぐには入れました。 着席しお目当てのはらこ飯を注文。いくら大盛りなども頼めるようでしたが、とりあえずオーソドックスな物を。 注文後は本当に早く2分程度で配膳されました。 まぁ皆さんこれ目当てでしょうし、盛るだけですもんね。 小鉢、汁物、サラダもついてきていますが、なんと言ってもはらこ飯。プチプチのイクラにしっかり炊き上げたご飯が最高です。 お値段以上の幸せを感じました。 9/19(日 訪問時 三連休の中日にお邪魔しました。 が、13:30頃なら既に空いていると甘い予想の元に訪問すると、 店の列に並ぶことはおろか、駐車場も満車で近づくこともできませんでした。 次はもう少し空いている時を狙って行きたいと思います!
