Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónAfter reading some reviews, it seems like the restaurant has made some changes. However, my experience was not like some of the ones I have read. The restaurant was empty, so I was able to choose any seat I wanted. A man approached me and sold me a VIP card, which allowed me to get one free meal and other perks. I ordered popcorn shrimp, fries, wings, salad, and nachos, and I enjoyed everything so much that I wanted more. The server was great and tried to upsell me, making my experience enjoyable. There was a manager or someone who was very loud and talked about personal issues in front of customers. Despite that, I still have my card and may return in the future, although there is no rush.
The food at this restaurant is mediocre and not ideal for a peaceful evening out. The Samoas were tasty and satisfying for a late night bite.
I have read terrible reviews of the Ajax and other locations on another website. I wasn 't thrilled when my husband happened to purchase a vip card from someone going door to door. We ended up trying it this weekend and our experience at the Ajax location was REALLY GREAT! I don 't know if they have made changes since those other reviews but our experience was completely different. Our server was friendly and was able to remember everything about our order (plus that of another table) without writing it down. She was attentive over the course of our meal and was quick to bring drinks. She was the only server in there at the time and had at least 6 tables to handle. We had the Calamari, Vegetable Samosas, Burger with Fries and the Steak Sandwhich with Peppercorn Sauce. The Calamari had nice light breading which was crispy and not too oily; nice dip accomapniment. My samosas, while not authentically Indian, were filled with a good potato and veggie mixture and served with sweet chili sauce. My husband said his burger was great. I think a good test of a kitchen is how well they can pull off a steak sandwhich. Mine was not the typical over done piece of shoe leather I 've had at other places. This was a tender juicy piece of beef, actually cooked the way I 'd asked for it, served on a lightly buttered and not-too-garlicky ciabatta bun with great French Fries. We were pleasantly surprised with our meal, our server and the restaurant and bathrooms were really clean. The decor seemed average to me for this type of restaurant (some of the other reviewers commented on how truck stop the decor seemed) and I am sure we 'll go back to the Ajax location.
I find the pub to be a bit boring, lacks excitement. Just tried it and may not be inclined to come back.
Nice server who kept an eye on our every need. Food was typical pub fodder for the most part and was good with the exception being the grilled cheese sandwich which was three slices of bread with a skimpy amount of cheese between. It would have served their purpose better to leave out the middle slice of bread, that would make cheese almost the primary taste.
