Stumps - Alice Springs

There are several good places to eat in Alice Springs and we tried a few, but during our week there Uncles Tavern was the one we went back to most. The food is very good and reasonably priced, and the service is friendly, helpful and efficeint, plus you can get a big beer for 5 dollars!.The place is pretty basic, but everywhere is clean and tidy. There's TV if you want it and they do music at night, although we didn't get to see it.

The location and customer service was really good. However, my steak sandwich was more like chewing a sole of a shoe. I didnt take it back because we all know what would happen to it and I didnt want to make a problem. Sadly I wouldn't go back here and probably stick to a microwaved meal or other take away.

We were staying at the Diplomat and went to Uncles Tavern for tea. We spent the afternoon having a few cold Beverages, played a bit of pool. Had a great afternoon. Staff were awesome, very welcoming and great for a chat. Food was delicious!!! Our meals came out quickly. I had the American Ribs they were to die for, proudly finished every last bit (it was huge). My friend had the Southern Fried Chicken Burger - which she said was awesome and very affordable. We will definitely go back. Highly recommend!!

The Mexican schnitzel was surprisingly great (we're from Arizona!) but the steak sandwich was inedible. Staff was friendly and food came quickly. A great scene, just a standard local pub.

We dined here twice. Food is good pub quality. Service is quick. On Saturday and Sunday they have $5 Burgers and $5 drinks. Noise levels can be high in the evenings.
