The atmosphere was good, the building is filled with taxidermy animals on the walls, and the building is big enough but still cozy. The food on the other hand I found to be quite plain. The menu states that its a touch of Louisiana in Southern Illinois and states that it is a fusion of Louisiana Cajun and Great Boars of Fire BBQ cuisine but there were only 6 Cajun entrees on the menu and NO BBQ except for a pulled pork appetizer or sandwiches, no entrees except for ribs. Steaks, burgers, baked potatoes, mac and cheese, red beans and rice, salads, french fries, etc. Typical fried food that you can grab at any local steak house or bar. The steaks were great. Everyone in our party of 11 ordered steak and there were no complaints. They do know how to cook a steak. I wish there had been a few more BBQ-ish items on the menu. They do know how to keep the beers coming though. Our server was on it where the beer was concerned. She never missed a beat and everyone got their drink on. I think the best thing I had of the night was a fried pickle spear and some good fried seafood in an appetizer that our group shared. I would like to go back in the spring or summer to see the pretty setting that it is in that area and maybe get some BBQ if it's available.
Loved the atmosphere and you had plenty of food. Good food for a good price. We will be back
First visit today but won't be our last! Our server Dakota was awesome as was the food and atmosphere! The owner was very nice and even gave us some of their homemade bread pudding, which was the best I've ever had!!!
We were there yesterday. The waitress was prompt, the food came quickly it was all delicious. Will be returning customers bringing friends
