I guess it has Gone with the Onion Rings. The honey buns are a delight, but you need more. After our 3rd dinner, the food was not good. If the Onion Rings ever come back, it's the only way my husband would return. Sorry, we really miss the former delicious food.
Had a great dinner at this Cheddar's, recently. The ribs were delicious. The full rack was too much for my husband. The Salmon was cooked, perfectly. Server was courteous friendly, as was the hostess.
First, my food was good, and if you have all the time in the world , I say go for it. And to be fair , most of the staff were very nice. My complaint is that ever since Covid you have begged us to come back into restaurants and then begged us to be patient because you have reduced staff. I caught you on a bad day we had to wait only a few minutes to get seated because half the restaurant isn’t used I am okay with that) our waitress was 10 minutes coming to the table to tell us she would be right back . not really good in a half full restaurant, but okay, got it) our poor waitress then was injured an injury serious enough to require all kinds of bandaging and , honestly , putting her out of commission. She was a sweetheart but the rest of the restaurant had no real interest in helping during this . I was eventually able to flag another server after our waitress did not return and she explained the injury and did bring us sodas . We sat another 20 minutes before approaching the hostess who contacted someone and said they would be right there. No one came. We waited another 10 minutes and I approached the hostess and asked for the manager, she was doing an inspection and wasn’t available. Finally another waitress was sent to the table and was clearly not happy about it she was kind of given the task after 30 minutes had passed, so nobody was making a great effort to help the customers of the injured waitress all the tables in our section 4 were just abandoned) . The manager eventually came around after most of our section got their meals and did attempt to make people happy by doing something with their bills. I think at that point there weren’t any other options. We did refuse that, we didn’t need or want a free meal , but we did get the old “ well , we are short staffed” explanation for being left unattended. I completely sympathize with the injured staffer and it is unusual but I think noting that your employee is injured the priorities should be the employee’s well being and then making sure the customers are covered . I have worked in restaurants and can’t imagine not pitching in when something happens. I am exhausted by all this. It is not just Cheddars but most places are understaffed to the point of making eating out a time involved patience test where I am constantly asked to overlook wait times, service food prep. I got the message I need to just stay home for a while where at least I can make my own food and refill my water or soda whenever I want it.
Delicious lunch- wow! My husband had steak and chicken fingers and they were absolutely wonderful. Chicken fingers were done perfectly; crispy and juicy! I had steak and grilled shrimp with Brookline cheese casserole and corn not on the con which was scrumptious. Great atmosphere and fabulous service!’ And…..my cocktail hit the spot too!! The warm honey butter croissants are Scrumptious…. I took some home for a later snack!!
Stopped in for lunch because it was convenient to the shopping center we were in. We usually don't eat a chain restaurants when traveling, preferring locally owned places. However, this place is good for comfort food and the pot pie/salad combination is a great value and very tasty. I can't vouch for the entire menu but our service and food were quite adequate. Place was clean and quiet.
