The menu was quite limited, and neither my partner nor I found anything appealing, so we decided to play it safe with a curry and a chicken burger with chips. The curry was edible but far from enjoyable. The chicken burger consisted of two pieces of dry, reformed chicken in breadcrumbs, which tasted stale, accompanied by a plate of overcooked oven chips—it was a terrible main course. For dessert, we both chose cheesecake, thinking that even frozen cheesecake would satisfy us, but sadly, it did not. We left most of it untouched because it was not nice at all, and we were still hungry afterward. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and polite, and we don't hold them responsible for the food quality. It seems that the Holiday Inn has adopted a method of providing low-quality, low-value food to cut costs. This experience ruined what was meant to be a special gift and a much-needed break from our busy lives. Overall, we were very disappointed.
The menu had limited options, and I found the food to be overpriced. I ordered the risotto, and it was disappointing—the rice barely covered the bottom of the plate. On a positive note, the staff was friendly.
Very easy check in. Helpful staff. Room was nice and clean and roomy. Only problem was I checked my car in for my 4 night stay. But then I received two letters for fines for staying over the stated times. Matter was put right after two phone calls for each time.
We received a very warm welcome from Jacob at the reception upon our arrival. He immediately recognized our membership status and was not only engaging but also informative and kind. The hotel is conveniently located for the shuttle to and from France, and it provided everything we needed in a comfortable room, including good food and an excellent breakfast. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay. This will likely become our preferred hotel for our European adventures.
During our stay, my grandson was feeling unwell throughout the night. The night staff were incredibly helpful; they quickly changed our room to make sure everything could be cleaned. Their support was above and beyond what we expected. I urge higher management to recognize these fantastic employees. It’s the staff who truly uphold the restaurant's good reputation.
