Worst experience ever. I’ve never had a problem from this restaurant until tonight. My egg rolls are straight mush, I ordered 2 orders of egg fried rice and pretty sure I was charged for both and only got 1. My favorite Chinese place is now ruined. I get that it was 7 at night but seriously my egg rolls aren’t supposed to be mush.
The general tso chicken has very little flavor, the fried rice doesn't taste like any fried rice I've ever gotten from a Chinese restaurant. The egg rolls are good but very small and cost the same as an egg roll that's probably 3x it's size where we normally order from. Place and picking up a to go order through the door off the side alley is sketchy and that door literally enters into the kitchen--why would you want customers walking into your kitchen to pick up food. I wasn't impressed at all. We will not eat here again.
This week our group that's trying to hit every place in Ashland landed at Peking. What a blast from the past, not much has changed in years and that's kind of comforting! The food was as good as I remember and the service is always great. Peking is an Ashland institution and the place to go for Chinese food.
I went around back to order for a pickup. My son and I were exploring downtown. The lady invited us into the kitchen to stand there was a car line. The kitchen was absolutely horrifying and completely gross. I have never seen a kitchen so out of sorts. My son is 10. He didn't even want to stay. There was raw chicken laying around and dirty dished stacked everywhere. We Def will never be eating there.
