When we first arrived, it seemed like the owner's infant was behind the counter crying, and an 8-year-old boy, presumably the owner's son, was trying to calm the baby. Later on, I witnessed the owner shouting in a different language, seemingly very upset. The boy eventually came out to the dining area and began clearing tables, which I found troubling. The owner's demeanor was quite aggressive, and as we left, we couldn't help but notice how messy and dirty the kitchen looked. This establishment could really use help from a show like Restaurant Impossible. In fact, I didn't even finish my meal there and had to run over to Burger King for a quick cheeseburger afterward. For the sake of your health, I strongly advise against dining at Capital Buffet.
This is a fantastic spot to enjoy Chinese food without breaking the bank! During our last visit, we opted for the buffet, and I was impressed by how quickly they replenished the empty dishes. The quality of the food was decent and quite tasty. The atmosphere is generally pleasant—usually quiet—but the decor could use a bit more flair; it feels somewhat uninspired. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an affordable meal. While I'm not sure about the prices of other menu items, the buffet is definitely budget-friendly for most people.
The food was served cold and seemed old. My 10-year-old even pointed out that the desserts looked questionable. The onion rings, chicken fingers, and shrimp were served in cornbread, which was an odd combination, and everything was cold with flavors that didn't appeal to most of us. I took a bite of the chicken and found it to be dark pink inside—definitely not something I would let my daughter eat! Around 6 PM, we were the only patrons in the restaurant, which made it even more awkward. When we first arrived, I noticed the owner's child (I assume it was the owner’s child) screaming behind the counter. An 8-year-old boy tried to soothe the baby, which was rather unsettling. Later, we noticed the owner raising her voice in an angry tone in another language, and soon after, the little boy came out into the dining area and started moving tables around. It was a bizarre scene, and I felt really sorry for him. The owner had a very unfriendly demeanor, and after saying our goodbyes, we glanced into the kitchen and were struck by how dirty and unkempt it appeared. This place could certainly use some serious help, like the kind offered on "Restaurant Impossible." I didn't even finish my meal and ended up going to Burger King for a quick cheeseburger afterward. For the sake of your health, I would strongly advise against dining at the Capital Buffet.
This is a great place to go if you want Chinese food and SkyRocket prices do not want to pay! The last time we went to eat, we had the buffet, there quite quickly when you are empty to replace the empty dish (at buffet level). The quality of the food is fair and tasty. The atmosphere is fine, usually quite quiet, but the place looks pretty boring. It needs more style. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a fairly cheap meal, not sure about the prices on the other items because I never get them out price, but the buffet is affordable for most people.
