Brick House Tavern Tap Austin

Restaurant did not have our open table reservations even though we had confirmations via open table. Waited over an hour to get a table even though the restaurants was only half full. Waited another hour to get our food once seated. Food was cool lukewarm when it arrived. We were told the restaurant was short staffed (servers, kitchen, busboys, etc. . By far the worst restaurant experience we’ve had in many many years, perhaps ever. Do NOT go there until you can verify they are not short staffed again.

PLUS we were seated immediately, upon arrival. Minus is they appeared to be short staffed which equalled lack of service. Food was ok, but drinks were no bueno. Thankfully, I was not charged for the drinks. Atmosphere was fun able to watch a fight and relax with the kids.

Disappointed they don’t serve beer in the tall serving yards anymore. Our waitress was horrible. The food was great though.

It was not busy and it took over an hour and 20 minutes to receive our food. One child’s meal arrived before our appetizer. We were told they were waiting on one of the kid’s sliders before everyone else’s meal could come out. We waited a long time for drinks too.

Our server seemed annoyed with us the whole time. She even asked the adults to please assist the kids in putting the straws for them in their drinks so the papers don’t go everywhere. Our steaks came out cold and with no flavor at all. We had to ask for garlic butter and salt. The fish and chips, also horrible. When we asked her for refills we overheard her say oh my god!! We were visiting family in Texas so we won’t be back. The place across the street was packed but brick house was empty. Now we know why.
