Food was exellent. The beef ribs were especially good. Very fun atmosphere. Many sides to choose from. Price is mid range to high. We spent about $100. The food is worth the cost but not your usual frequent place to dine.
A lot of people had been hyping this place up. The environment and food. The environment is nice and it is always good to be outside. However, I went on Saturday.5-11-2019. Ordered mini tacos and have had food poisoning ever since. I'm not sure if it was cross contamination or they didn't clean or cook something properly, but I have not ever had food poisoning before and it is the worst! I am sure it was obviously unintentional, but I feel that these things happen when things are rushed and proper procedures aren't taken when handling, storing or cooking food. Please, make sure everyone has a food handlers card and is doing everything as they should when working in an establishment. Again, the environment was nice, but getting sick my first time at the establishment was not what I intended to happen. Nobody else I attended with got sick, but I also ordered something different from everyone else. I ordered Mollejas, which a lot of people can not make. If you can not make it properly please don't have it on your menu or make sure the person who can cook it properly is the only one that does cook it. Today is my first day feeling slighly better. I hate to even put this kind of review on here but I would also hate for the issue to go unresolved and would not want anyone else going through the same situation I am in.
Being a Beeville resident for the last 10 years I’m always looking to try something new in town. I decided to choose Julio’s café because it was a Friday night I just got off of work and I was hungry for good barbecue. My first choice was to go to Cuzzin’s but they were closed so the only other bbq place that was open was Julio’s so I decided to give it a try. First thing I noticed upon arriving was that they had a little selection of food which is fine for any starting food joint but what got my attention was the prices were pretty high, Still with high intentions I ordered the hot plate which at Taqueria would run about 12 bucks. It was $14 for a plate and the quantity Was about the same as a children’s plate. And not only that I ordered it to go and second-guessing myself I didn’t check to see if all my order was correct because like I said I just got off of work and I was tired and hungry but soon as I got home to open my plate I noticed I didn’t have my tortillas that I Ordered and the beef rib that came on my plate hardly had any type of meat on it in the meat that was on it was super dry. I can say that they had a nice atmosphere they had music playing but the only downfall is that for one they don’t have any alcoholic beverages which would be good for a spot like that and also they were prompt on the food so you don’t have to wait long it’s just the quality and the prices are the only two things I would have to say negatively about this restaurant. Most likely won’t be going back hopefully they improve.
I absolutely love this place! The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate. They allow you to bring your own beverages as long as you spend over $10. It's family-friendly and the food is delicious—not bland or overcooked. I can’t wait to come back soon!
