Leslie's The Tavern At Rockingham

I discovered this charming little gem while on a road trip back home, and it was absolutely delightful. We stopped for dinner and had an incredible experience. From the warm welcome by Leslie to the delicious meal, I only wish we could come back more often. The restaurant is set in a lovely house, featuring a spacious dining room with a wood stove, soft lighting, and soothing acoustic music playing in the background. It was such a lovely atmosphere, and the food was truly exceptional. This place is definitely a must-visit!

If you're planning to dine at Leslie's, be sure to arrive at least two hours before closing time. We arrived an hour and a half before closing, and as soon as we walked in, the staff member at the door gave us a disapproving look and abruptly informed us that they were not serving any more guests for the night. We drove two and a half hours to enjoy dinner there during our vacation, and it was incredibly disappointing. Meal type: Other.

While the waitress was very lovely there were a number of things that show very poor restaurant management. And my observations are similar to what others noted. Most glaring was that they did not bring salt and pepper immediately after serving my entree NY Strip Steak. And they had 1 pepper grinder and a small tea cup of salt for the entire dining room! Each table had to share. The menu listed roasted potatoes with the steak, but came with mashed potatoes. When I pointed this out the waitress said well, the chef sometimes changes things. I was ok with the switch but the wait staff should know and inform diners before serving their meal. And I had to tell them the potatoes had so much pepper I couldn 't evrn eat them. But they didnt offer me another starch. When they brought my dessert my dinner plates were still on the table. Many basic reataurant mistakes here. Disappointing.
