My husband and I went for dinner at 7pm on a Friday night during what I thought was prime time dinner hours- there was literally no one there which should have been our warning sign. Not only was the food not good, but the girls at the front were not friendly, accommodating, or interested in helping out any customers. They were on their phones and didn’t know how to answer any questions about the food or drinks. We had to order at the front then sit and wait for our food, which is fine. The food came out pretty quickly. I got eggplant parm with their homemade fusilli. My dish and sauce was watery from the poorly drained pasta with a block of “eggplant parm” that was bland and lukewarm. The “fusilli” was odd 4-5 inch pieces of pasta that looked nothing like fusilli and was difficult to eat without cutting it due to the size. My husband got spinach ravioli with the sage sauce and a meatball on the side. The sauce was pretty good and so was the ravioli. However, the plate it was put on was way too small and the sauce was flowing over the side of the plate. They also put the meat ball with red sauce right on top of the white sauce of the ravioli, which I thought was weird. When I went to ask for a side plate for the meatball, the girls at the counter were rude as I tried to explain why I needed an extra plate. For $60 for two plates of pasta, a glass of wine, and a beer, I would have expected better quality and definitely better service than a local sub shop.
Food was okay. The small cheese pizza was reminiscent of a pizza from a stadium concession stand (heavy on the cheese and cardboardy crust. The chicken caesar wrap was composed of 60% croutons, 30% chicken, 10% lettuce. Nothing terrible but wouldn’t go back
Came here to buy an Italian Sub based on good reviews. At the counter I ordered an Italian Sub, when asked what did I want on it, I said everything, I was then asked do you want tomato yes , lettuce yes , peppers yes , I again said I want everything, everything that comes on it. Sub was mediocre at best, basic few slices of meats +cheese, just tomato and lettuce for toppings, nothing else, no dressing of any type, it was dry, and it was cold. (Noticed it was heavy on staff for quiet week night; there were 6-7 people working open counter, kitchen, cook area.
Solid Italian food. Nothing fancy, but a good meal at a reasonable price.
I just moved to Belmont and the pizza here was okay. I usually order online, and tips is mandatory here. Once, I forgot to tip and they cancelled my order before 8 pm even though they were supposed to be open until 9 pm. I was extremely disappointed and felt like they discriminated against customers. If you go to Belmont School, I suggest avoiding this place.
