By the feel of it, this place does not need any reviews because it is so popular with locals and guests of the locals : But we want to leave a note of our pleasant experience in this small but mighty place. I enjoyed my Persetorsk which is essentially cod that has been cooked until it flakes easily and resembles pearls. It was served with boiled potatoes with eggs on top, sliced carrots and a wonderful purée of some green vegetables. The Menü of the place can change based on the ingredients available. So my husband wanted to try sausages, however they were not on the menu. Luckily, the restaurant was planning to serve them to showcase new beer and had already prepped for that, so we were served sausages, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. It’s away from the cruise crowds but full of relaxing atmosphere. Treat yourself!
Good meat soup but it was a little bit salty though. The local apple juice was amazing and the beer was good. Thank you!
As the reviews say. No table service but that isn’t a problem. Menu on the boards in the bar area. Free water and sun scream if needed too a nice touch. Food was fresh and warming. One of the best we had in Norway and very local. Well priced. Happily recommend
I think you get the perfect Norwegian comfort food at Dr. Wiesener. You could hear Norwegian at almost every table, which is a good sign. We had a delicious dinner and will be back next time we visit Bergen.
