Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark

I've never been on a a tour of the facility but I've heard great things.I've been here three times for a music festival.This place is such a unique venue. I genuinely enjoy going here for that.Only issue I have is that it's not very accessible. I would love to see more ADA compliance and more lighting around the area.

Very interesting museum of Birmingham’s history of iron making.The site is free to visit but we took the guided tour and it was $10 per person and well worth it. So much more to learn than what is posted. Guided tour hits the hot spots answers any and all questions and then you are left to roam freely. The tour takes about 1 hour. Mostly shaded but there are many areas out in the sun so bring some water.Come see this amazing hit of history!

This is an interesting place to say the least. I am a paranormal investigator and have seen TV shows filmed here. They allow you to walk freely throughout the complex and there are interesting tid bits of information everywhere. Our hearts go out to those who worked there in its heyday. The owners and staff were cruel, unreasonable and unrelenting. If there are souls walking amongst the ruins let us pray that they do so freely and without suffering.

This was my first time visiting Sloss Furnaces, this past weekend. What an amazing, spectacular, and also a creepy place! It is a must for those who are interested in historical places, or have read about the urban legends. Nowadays, they teach welding and metalsmithing. There are sculptures on display.

Had a great time exploring. I went around noon on a Thursday so there was no one there with us, it was eerie looking around without another soul around. It feels like stepping back in time. A must see location in Birmingham. Also if you’re a railfan the elevated walkway has a great view of the tracks and frequent trains passing through.
