Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI found this gem by word of mouth. And let me start by saying I am glad someone told me about it. I have been here on multiple occasions. My favorite menu item is the mangonada. The mango is always fresh and ripe not hard like other places that put green mango sometimes. The chamoy and tajin are perfect. The mango ice cream taste like pure mangoes. They have some Mexican candies also which is nice. I've had some other ice creams flavors but I auailly go for the mangonadas.
I love, love, love Mexican ice cream shops and this place is no exception. They have a huge private parking lot that it shares with the other businesses in the strip mall that it is located. When I go there, the line was literally out the door. They sell hand scooped ice cream, Mexican candy, popsicles, tortas, banana splits, milkshakes, mangonadas, and horchatas. They moved the line quickly, but I had time to contemplate what I want. They have a wide selection of ice cream, some of which are rare, exotic, and/or hard to find. I never had kiwi ice cream, but I did that day. Those two scoops were some of the best ice cream that I have ever had. It tasted like I was eating straight out of a kiwi. I highly recommend it. I also got a mixed fruit horchata. It was pretty good too. It was packed with fruit chunks. It needed a bigger straw, but I made it work. I just took off the lid and ate the fruit that piled up at the bottom.....mmmmmmmm.There was a bit of a language barrier there, but I did not have any issues conveying my order. Whenever I am in the area I will be sure to stop by here and get me a treat. I highly recommend you seek this diamond in the rough out and do the same.
A new ice cream spot for National Ice Cream Day! It's been in my bookmarks for a while, and what better day to go than when celebrating one of my chilly sweet favs? I pulled up in the middle of the afternoon and I saw people consistently going in and out. I thought the area was going to be a little more low-key... I guess I was wrong, oops! I parked and went in, anticipating the line. It was indeed all the way to the door, but it moved quickly! I should've taken a peek at the menus outside, as it was a little tricky to read them while in line. Not only were they small, but some words were in Spanish and I didn't recognize them haha. I figured things out relatively quickly when it was my turn though, but I had to ask about a couple of flavors because all the labels weren't visible. I decided on Tamarind w/ chili (tajin) almost immediately... the red swirls just looked stunning. I was stumped on a second flavor, so I asked for a recommendation... and kiwi was the winner. It made for a beautiful cone! First off, 2 scoops and a cone for $5 is a win around these parts for me. I was pleasantly surprised! Now, when I stepped out and started licking the cone is when I was REALLY happy. It was simply delicious... packed with flavor, and so creamy! Don't ask me to pick a favorite between the two, because that's way too difficult. I will say that I'm glad I got the chili with the tamarind... I just don't think it would've hit the same without it! I just want to go through all of the flavors now... they've got guava, mango, prickly pear, blackberry... so many! I wonder if they allow samples (I only skimmed other reviews, not sure if anyone mentioned it)... but if you're looking for a different approach to ice cream, I highly recommend here. Also, there's a popsicle equivalent to every flavor. They have toppings and some other food too, but I didn't try them out. Next time!
Fantastic ice cream. Good prices. Unique (to your average American) flavors. They don't skip on chunks and filling in their ice cream like most bigger chains. So creamy. Packed with flavor.
I've been to a few of these including the one in Woodbridge and also several of them in Illinois as I love that they offer a large variety of quality flavorful ice creams, huge scoops, and at a reasonable price. Sadly, this location isn't as good as my experience with the others. It doesn't offer as many varieties. I ordered my two favorite flavor ice creams (rum raisins and angel kid) same at other locations but it wasn't as flavorful. Also, the scoops was much smaller. Price was the same. Customer service was just ok, not as welcoming or friendly even though it wasn't at all busy in there. Would I go again- probably not because I've had much better experience at other locations like at the one in Woodbridge, VA and prefer to return there.
