Ramie's - Bogalusa

I've eaten here for years but today was horrible. I got the catfish basket and the coleslaw was terrible and it was room temperature, they have always had some of the best in town but today it was inedible. It had a weird twang to it. It was off. I got macaroni and cheese as a side and usually it's fantastic but I could have made better myself out of a box. I asked the lady at the register if they've had new owners or a new cook and she said no. Something has changed because the food was so bad I couldn't finish my meal and I was very hungry. I will miss Ramie's.

I heard the food here was good. It’s a nice space and appears clean. They don’t seem to believe in using the AC. The ceilings are high and they have large fans, but every time I have gone it’s been uncomfortably hot. There always seems to be staff who are off work going into the kitchen and even SMALL CHILDREN running in and out of the kitchen. I have ordered off the menu and eaten the seafood buffet. It’s all been extremely salty , yet bland. I was not happy that I paid $25 for the buffet and everything was old. They were not good at putting out fresh food when the pans were nearly empty. In the rare occasion they did put out something new, it tasted different from the previous batch.There’s no consistency. It’s not worth $25 , at all! The service isn’t great either. My server last time didn’t seem to understand English well and had her small children going in and out of the kitchen. It’s a hazard and made me very nervous for their safety.

I visited the restaurant today on my way to workI ordered a chef salad on the phone to pick up to go. While waiting, I wanted a few items from the buffet so I asked for the Togo plate. I got a single whole catfish, 2 small ears of corn and a small scoop of greens. My bill was 38.02$ Never ever again as this was “outrageous!” Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner

The second experience I had here was much better than the first one. I said I wouldn't be back but my wife talked me into giving them another chance. I am glad she did. It was just awesome!!! I took a few bites and I had to go throw it up! They never asked if I was ok and I had to pay for a plate of food I didn't even get to eat Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
