Delicious!! One thing I definitely miss with a pescatarian diet is a nice Reuben sandwich. I haven't had one in so long. We were visiting Boulder for a work trip and stopped by this fantastic food hall. This vegan Reuben sandwich was incredible. I loved the tangy flavors of the thousand island-flavored dressing and sauerkraut with the vegan corned beef. The rye bread was perfectly grilled. The homemade chips were also yummy with a nice crisp. I wish we had this Jewish vegan deli close by!
We finally were able to go in to get a takeout order recently as earlier this year we had tried their food sight unseen based on Yelp reviews by delivery. Deifinelty worth trying again. We had the opportunity recently to be able to be in downtown Boulder, outside, with a chance to order some favorites from the last time and take them home to eat this time. Hopefully next time we will be able to stay to eat in or out on the picnic tables outside on the mall area. I highly recommend the 18+1 sandwich which is in fact a customization of the Rueben category. Always long time favorites of mine from coast to coast. The quality here definitely rivals the best of the best I have had, east coast, west coast and a classic special place in Ann Arbor, Mi. The staff was pleasant and had the order done and ready for pick up very quickly as it was a quiet midweek late afternoon. We certainly will be back to further explore the menu and enjoy a fuller meal and at this rate, I expect I can give them 5 stars for all around. Almost can now but a few other categories I need to try. But call this 4 1/2.
Would love to tell you if the food was good. But that is not possible. Ordered from 3 different places the other were all ready at the same time. The Rye not so much. Ask twice both times going to be 5 minutes. Just gave up. I would recommend all the other food places at the Avanti but cannot the Rye as I never go food.
I have cooked homemade matzo ball soup from a box mix for the matzo balls, and this matzo ball soup was much better. The ratio of fennel was very well done- not overwhelming but still fragrant. I bought the cup instead of the quart/bowl, so this may be why I only had one matzo ball. None the less, as a vegetarian who wouldn't be ordering the chicken in the soup for an extra $3, it was very yummy. I was a bit disappointed with the latkes because they were a bit over cooked for me and pretty greasy. But dipping them in the applesauce helped a lot with the taste. It was very nostalgic. I did feel a little queasy from the grease levels after finishing all three though. Additionally, the cashier we had was very friendly! It was a really nice atmosphere from the employees. At this plaza, the food places will text you when your food is ready to pick up. Rye Society never sent us a text while the other members in our group were getting text messages about their food. But we just kept an eye out from our table until we saw our food.
