Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI find it excessive and greedy to charge an additional £1 for paying for a pint with a card. The price of a pint should be the price of a pint, without any extra fees. What's next, charging an extra 50 pence if you're wearing brown shoes?
This is an centuries old inn on the main road through town, so plenty of exposed timbers. But the building really could do with a make-over. It not quite shabby, but it 's bordering on it. However, on the plus side, the food is first-class. We stopped by for a 'quick ' lunch and ended up with full plates of hot, fresh, well-prepared food. My wife had a BLT and I had bacon and brie, both in a fresh, crusty baguette. Tasted wonderful with thick rashers of bacon from the butcher 's shop across the road. Can 't fault the food (or the beer) and the owner was a charming lady.
Visited here for lunch one Friday, late autumn. Was a warm day so we asked if we could be placed away from radiators but apparently this was not possible, so were placed in a very over heated side room where we could luckily open a window. Took almost an hour for an un unwelcoming older waitress to take the order . I ordered a water and ice, which never arrived. The staff didn't seem to want to be there so I find myself perplexed as to why they continue to operate, when It good be a fantastic business opportunity for someone that could take pride in this establishment. The food that arrived was to a very good standard however even thought the choices available were rather outdated and limited for non meat eaters. Needs to get with the times to keep up with the industry and get return customers.
Me My Wife would like to Thankyou for your very nice welcome by all your staff. The food was Excellent. The room no5 was very well presented. Everything was very well presented for this Dated building I have no regrets on staying again. Breakfast was Excellent. As was Dinner Evening Meals. Please don't change anything.
Friendly welcome on arrival. Room very spacious and overlooking church yard. The bed was really comfortable and we had a great sleep. The decor is dated but equally this is a very old building. Breakfast was delicious. We would stay here again.
