I have met family here for lunch on Wednesday afternoons more than once recently.
Seems as always closed. update 6. mai 20222pm 3pm French tweebel soup various take for bark. well done, nice to have more wobbles. 4 of 5 stars. parm ofen in cast iron baked. better than mine. rather ingenious lunchservice was on a higher than normal level for the kawarthas unexpected. better than doug’s. I first visited chemong lodge 1961, it was not bought from the previous owners until 1962. Pretty awesome surprize.
For Sunday brunch, as we had heard so much of it. beautiful location with view of the lake and away. the restaurant urgently needs a facelift, dark tablecloth dark wood decoration art depress. they need more attention to their cleaning detail, the lighter have spinnwebs and the cover fans are dirty. our waitresses were pleasant and attentive. the choice of food was reasonable, but unfortunately there were problems. the hot table food was not even warm. the brot for the toaster was still a little frozen and difficult to separate. Unfortunately I have heavy food allergies so that I could not eat the ice-free, but they forced me to make some simple touch and brought them to our table. one needed a spoon to eat them, as they were so soft and runny they would not stay on the fork. I thought maybe it was a free day for eating and was ready to come back, maybe for the nativity Saturday. but my man tried the main rib on the buffet and cut to the salt amount at the roast. He said the roast himself was quite bland, not all that we had hoped. had nothing of the salat area, since most of the dishes seemed to be picked or have some kind of dressing. would like to see that small tomato, carrots and celery sticks might add to some deceased salat. all in all not a very favorable experience, probably not back.
Went for St Paddy's Day lunch. Good seat and food was OK. Questionable value for the Irish Stew, needed more or additional bread offered to the table. We did and it never came! Worst is being a non drinker and having to pay $3.50 for a small glass of Ginger Ale! And never being offered a refill!
