The tarragon mushrooms with plum sauce, pumpkin toasted seeds and Brie was served with a mountain of fresh rocket salad on sourdough. Exquisite flavours, no pretension. Highly recommended. Ate most before I thought of taking a photo !!
Visited recently. Nice little cafe which seems popular. Coffee is average though served in very small cups. Poor value for the price charged. I asked for a larger cup! My question is why does it take so long to warm up a scone?! Must have waited for about 20 minutes with no apology. Partner was not given his cake either until asked. When both arrived coffees were cold. Partner did receive another espresso when asked though!
I recently tried the poached eggs on sourdough with a side of house beans at this restaurant. The beans were cooked in a delectably thick and creamy sauce, which paired perfectly with the breakfast. The coffee was great and the atmosphere was friendly. I will definitely be returning on my next visit.
They describe themselves as a speciality coffee place, but on the basis of our flat whites, they are nothing of the sort. Extremely weak, to the point that coffee flavours were hardly detectable. The barista lacked basic skills. A bit of a waste of money, really.
I have only been a few times since a management change and the coffee is bad. The house blend Highground was delicious, the recent cappucinos have been so hot that you can't taste coffee just heat, the barristas are not up to scratch , the price has gone up, it's a shame as this used to be an excellent neighbourhood cafe. Staff were friendly and efficient.
