Carmenta’s - Broad Channel

Go to spot for quality pasta and sandwiches. The Italian sub here is my favorite in Brooklyn. Good ratio of meat and cheese bread and not dry. All the pasta we have tried taste fresh with good portion sizes, and the pesto pasta here is particularly great. They also have daily sandwich and pasta specials (such as the rigatoni pictured) which are delicious. There are few tables and chairs to eat inside, but the takeout quality here is still great and consistent.

The rigatoni is DELICIOUS! I don’t like the smoky pork flavors of bacon but the pancetta and guanchale aren’t smoked so I took a chance and this pasta wasn’t smoky at all! It just tastes like tomato sauce with cheese and umami. This was the best pasta I’ve ever had!

A reliably good sandwich place whether you want something classic or inventive. Not a huge menu but it works to its benefit because it doesn't force you to make a bunch of choices. The meatball sub is a hit.

I dream of Carmenta’s spicy eggplant parm sandwich, but you cannot go wrong here — every dish is on point. I’m so happy this place exists.
