The bar person's were very welcoming and friendly, but unfortunately the food was a letdown. I had sausage mash and garden peas. I didn't like the sausage they were hard and gritty texture. One of the sausages was stale. It had obviously been stored in the fridge and had dried out hard, or it was past its date , it didn't taste nice. The three sausages were all different. The peas were dry and hard. The kids' meal was a frozen chigao town mini pizza, and a few chips cost £5.50 rip-off. I was also given a glass with a chip and a crack in it. I wouldn't recommend the food. I definitely won't be eating in there again...
Lovely pub. Warm and cosy.. roaring fire.. after a long cold trip out on Boxing Day.. George and Dragon could not have been more welcoming and friendly.
Excellent value for money. I had the steak and kidney pie which was full of meat and tasty. Served with the Sunday Roast trimmings at no extra cost. My wife had the whole tail scampi. Again excellent. Will definitely go again
Lovely pub in Downe Village. We ate here with the kids after Darwin House mid week before Easter. Kids loved their meals and we had pie which was lovely! Would of been 5 stars however the bar girl was rude to my husband and was more interested in keeping the locals happy than serving us. Language was not very lady like either especially with children around!
Came here with some friends for lunch. Food was ok, mostly fried staters shop brought. I had pie, was OK but was expecting more and did not taste homemade. Barmaid Chantelle is rude and looks like she would rather be anywhere else apart from there. Such a shame as have been in previously at weekend and other bar lady was lovely. I will not be returning and will be trying pub across the road in the future.
