Ugly Baby - Brooklyn

I ordered the pork shoulder and shrimp paste fried rice, along with a paneer curry dish. Unfortunately, the restaurant's menu is not available online so I cannot recall the exact names of the dishes. The curry had a medium level of spiciness, but was still quite hot, and the fried rice was very tasty. The glazed pork shoulder was the standout dish of the meal for me.

It's somewhere to bring your worst friends to suffer. Food is amazing if you love spicy. Too bad lunch is not available.

Having delicious authentic spicy food certainly does NOT allow a right of way to 1) speak with attitude to individual human beings 2) act dismissive to your guests dining in your TINY restaurant. We love going here although the are frequently welcomed by a very rude, and young maitre d who thinks that she can treat her customers with utmost arrogance and disrespect. Learn some manners a simple please and thank you goes a long way. Might be a culutural issue with the restaurant as seen many other reviewers have similar feedback. Have tried to reach them via email to give this feedback requesting a call back and they have not responded to any requests! Shameful!

In my opinion, this is the top restaurant in the neighborhood. When I have visitors from out of town, this is where I bring them. Everything is outstanding here. They don't exaggerate about the spice level - it's not just spicy, it's actually spicy, which I love even though it can be painful.

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the spice levels at this restaurant are no joke. Despite ordering a dish labeled as "not spicy," I found myself sweating through my beef curry. However, I must admit that my tolerance for spice is low. The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are truly unique. We made the mistake of not sharing dishes, as the portions are very generous. While the curry I ordered was good, it wasn't particularly memorable for me. I believe that if I were to come back and share dishes, I would likely give this place a 5-star rating, as I imagine other items on the menu would be more to my liking. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
