Restaurant Bar du Lac - Calacuccia

Corsican meal. good food and delicious. goatse salat was fresh and crispy, ham and sausage starters of corsicans. wildjagd was tender and tasty.

Stopped here for food on the way back from the Festival of Santa di u Niolu in the village of Casamaccioli above the lake. Service average, but food excellent. The Festival is a must see if you are ever in Corsica on the 8th September....Features the granitula brotherhood procession of the Statue of Santa du Niolu and a paghjella male singers chanting Corsican shepherd songs done in a haunting chjam é rispondi fashion. Out of this world literally.

We read about this restaurant in one of the Rough Guide books. It is a bit of a hairy drive to get to it if you go via Calacuccia, very mountainous. The food could not be faulted we had veal steak and lasagne, how ever...we were not sure if it was because we were the only British people there or they were just bad at their job but the service was terrible and this is the only reason it does not get a Very Good rating. We waited ages to be acknowledged and be given the menu it took ages for him to come back to take the order, the food came before the drinks and at the end I had to go inside and insist on seeing the bill as after waiting 15 mins for it to arrive we wanted to get going.

Visited the restaurant on a trip from the east to the west. What a gem on the road! They serve food from their own farm, and is served by friendly waitress. I had a burger, and it was the best I had in long time....It was big and served on tasty bread, with a piece of bacon and fried cheese on some lettuce. It came with fries that were also really good! I regret not having taken a photo.. The quality is outstanding and it was not expensive. The reason for only four stars is that the waitress forgot the water with the tea we had, and we had to follow up ourselves. Also, we asked for the bill twice and the lady serving us forgot the ice cream that was included in the menu for the kids. However, she very friendly apologized and took care of it. Recommended!

We came 3 years ago and I found this great restaurant with these 2 couples who made real local products. Apparently, separating didn't serve them. the meat is no longer from here but comes from america, too cooked, error on the addition, the myrtles offered are paid, and the smile was not at the rdv .... really disappointed. damage, before, it was a nice address!! We won't be back.
