Restaurante Churrasqueira de Caldelas

Visited two other basic places to eat in Caldelas and found service and food tho simpler of better quality. Service in both was better friendlier and more atmospheric. Would not return.

Perhaps it was because we are British ! We do try to speak Portugese. Service was poor, rushed and nobody actually made eye contact with us. We had roast chicken. This was presented in small almost bite-sized pieces which seemed to have been just about...reheated and had very little flavour.Accompanied by lettuce, sliced tomato and grated carrots no dressing nor anything to dress it with). The accompanying chips were literally 3mm wide. I was in trouble because I didn 't have any change. Lacking in ambience, we were very disappointed. We felt it was dear, especially considering the service. As in many restaurants in Portugal 'nibbles ' are placed on the table on being seated. We are fully aware that these have to be payed for.Our nibbles of a few very small slices of cheese, melon and ham cost 8 euros. To be fair other customers seemed to be getting better food. We shall not be going back; a special evening ruined by indifferent staff and poor food. Hope things are better for you. A pretentious restaurant ;others in Caldelas are more down to earth, friendlier , cheaper with better food.

Restaurante histórico com gestão familiar, serviço profissional e caseiro...Tal como o nome indica cozinham na brasa e tudo que vem daí é fantástico (principalmente peixe grelhado escalado, que tambem comemos, ou à posta), eu aprecio especialmente o frango de churrasco, que acho ser do melhor que se pode encontrar!O cabrito e a lampreia, na época, são clássicos da casa que não se devem perder.Nos dias quentes a esplanada à sombra das tílias é um prazer extra!

Apesar das obras na rua estacionamos sem dificuldade.A sala é bastante grande e confortável, os funcionários foram bastante atenciosos e simpáticos.Comemos costeleta de vitela e foi das 2 melhores que já comi num restaurante.Tendo em conta a comida e o serviço, o preço é justo.

Boa apresentação dos pratos. Bons grelhados. Recomendo as Papas de Sarrabulho e no fim as Rabanadas. Atendimento simpático.
