Lanika used to be good before the Chinese asked flu panicdemic, but has since gone down in the name of the profit. first, prices have increased significantly. the highest weekly price is now the cheapest weekend price. for this they now get a reduced...choice most of the food warmers were regularly empty (the place was not exceptionally busy) and when the pots were refilled, there were more casual sauce and less meat a common lkw to maximize the profit. instead of a free water jug they must now buy a liter plastic bottle from imported French water, because if I asked why, they came with the usual excuse of it is the law rat /lawyers / insurance says so C*vid etc. that is not true and I don't like to be treated like an idiot. the own website of the government says that fresh water needs to be in retainers that can be sterilized in a dishwasher and can be refilled by a certain isolated source with available sanitary supply (a hahn in the kitchen that is only accessible by the personal, fulfills this requirement). also other restaurants still give free water and they were not closed. lanika does this to make a profit, the law says only that free water must be given when the restaurant sells alcohol, which they do not so that they are allowed to calculate for water if they want them not to. this is not a good opportunity to impress their customers. in addition, when I was given the bottle of water for which I had to pay, the seal was broken and the water was room temperature, indicating that it had been filled out of the hahn anyway. when I was complaining, I got another bottle of the same that has an intact seal, but strangely, was cooled. bad service, lanika. you have challenged you from the competition and your service leaves much to be desired.
To say the bad administration would be a substatement. I have booked lanika as a venue for my high time. they showed me stunning pictures of deco and stage set up before booking, but then on the day of my high time I was shocked on the core to see a dirty stage and opaque decorations. the stage space looked nothing like the pictures they had shown me. it was worse than anything I had seen, because it seemed like the place was already used and they hadn't clean up. I was totally disappointed! I wouldn't even give this place star, but I'm going to be the only positive thing I heard from the guests was that the sweet rice was beautiful.
I was amazed as soon as I walked into this restaurant and tried their food. The variety of dishes available is impressive and everything is so delicious. I couldn't find any faults. My companions and I loved it so much that we keep coming back for more. This place is a must-visit!
Having moved out of Calderdale, it has been a couple of years since I last visited Lanika's. I booked for my daughter's birthday and there were of us. The restaurant was exceptionally busy, even at on a Saturday evening, and the food and...service was just as good as it always has been. Proper Asian curries, not the amended versions to cater for the masses, the food is unbelievably good. As All You Can Eat buffets go, this is the best. You won't find dozens of dishes cooked to average but around starters and main course dishes, all cooked with individual flavours and consistency. There are or traditional Asian desserts to choose from and a selection of ice cream which is a massive favourite with kids, who are encouraged to go back for more. The food is underpinned by helpful, pleasant staff who keep the food flowing and tables clear. I now live in Wakefield but will not hesitate to travel over to sample the food again, very soon!
