We tried our first pizza from Wig Pen, a 14-inch thin crust topped with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olives. This has quickly become our favorite pizza place in North Liberty! We loved the crust, which was perfectly crisp, and the pizza was generously loaded with toppings and cheese. The only small issue was that we ordered online for curbside pickup, but we ended up having to go inside to collect it. However, this wasn’t a significant problem. We will definitely be ordering from here again! Service: Takeout.
The deep dish pizza was served hot and fresh, with a perfect balance of crispy, cheesy, and chewy textures. Everything was delicious! The staff was friendly, and I would definitely come back when I'm in the area. Just a heads-up: it's takeout or delivery only!
As for the taco pizza, it sets itself apart from Happy Joe's by omitting refried beans, which I believe is an essential ingredient for a true taco pizza. It was still tasty, just not exactly what I was hoping for. The Union Jack, on the other hand, was a solid choice—a classic representation of Chicago-style pizza. The crust was good, though it felt a bit dry. Overall, it satisfied our cravings, but we’ll definitely be returning to Happy Joe's for the original soon.
I've been a customer of the North Liberty Wig And Pen Pizza Pub in Cville for several years, and I've always had a great experience. However, my last two pizza orders have been disappointing. About a month ago, I ordered a medium Flying Tomato Union Jack, and the crust was doughy and undercooked. Last night, I ordered another pizza and specifically requested that the crust be cooked thoroughly. Unfortunately, I received a burnt crust instead. Such a letdown! I think I’ll have to look for another pizza place.
