Saffron Bistro - Cape Girardeau

Yesterday, my dad and I went to the restaurant to celebrate our birthdays. The waitress surprised us with a fried banana and a candle, free of charge. We were both so delighted and will always remember this special gesture. Thank you to the staff at Saffron for their kindness and thoughtfulness.

Updated review. They no longer have the coconut cod and the Panang sauce. But I once again had the curry chicken and my wife had the Massaman curry. Delicious. And sushi too. Wonderful everything! Coconut cod was so good by itself that I didn't even wantto dip it in the panang sauce. Then I realized how good the panang was that I practically drank it. The yellow chicken curry wasamazing. One of the best I've had. The raspberry crepe is very good also.

Sushi rolls were lacking in the amount of tuna (one piece had none in it at all) Lacking flavor and sushi rice was not cooked properly. Sent it back and ordered Wonton soup and it was tasty. Would not go back here for the lunch special rolls. Service wasvery good.

At first, we were unsure if there would be anything suitable for us on the menu, but after discovering this restaurant on Happy Cow, we decided to inquire. The server informed us that most of the dishes could be prepared with tofu. The service was excellent, the ambiance was enjoyable, and the food was delicious. A fantastic discovery in Cape Girardeau, MO.

This is the best place to go in Cape Girardeau for a wide variety of vegan options. I am the leader of a vegan meetup group in Cape, and this is where we had our first meeting. Their menu offers the option to substitute tofu, vegetables, or vegan mock duck for meat in most dishes. I have tried all of these options with different sauces and they are all delicious. The vegetables are cooked perfectly, still crunchy and colorful when served. My go-to dish is the red curry with tofu or vegetables, it's amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant, although I would suggest their entrees over their sushi. Just a heads up, the miso soup is not vegan.
