Giordano Trattoria Romana - Carefree

Went recently on a Friday night around 7:00. Summertime, so no snowbird crowds, and the place was only about 1/3 full. Still got seated immediate behind the hostess podium, of all places. Not comfortable. Waited 15 minutes before being asked to order drinks. Only wine on the menu, no beer or cocktails listed. Food took very long, then came out with order taken incorrectly (red sauce, should have been white). We agreed that food took too long coming out to bother sending back and get the right order in time to enjoy. Overall, we felt unattended to. The slow service seemed due to the fact that our waiter was caught up chatting with the older “regular” constituents. Other staff had to help wait on us. Food was okay, but not anything special for simple pasta dishes. Certainly not worth the higher pricing of a Scottsdale joint. Decided to go across the street afterwards for better drinks dessert. I don’t leave reviews, so 4.5 stars was unexpectedly misleading for a planned “special night out”.

Great place! Will absolutely be going back. Wonderful food and service.

My wife is Italian and this is one of our go-to restaurants for good Italian cuisine. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the owner is out at the tables chatting with the guests.

The food was great! However my waitress, Adele, was subpar. I was dining alone. When she turned the corner to first greet me her face completely changed when she saw me. Idk if she’s never seen a black young woman out to dinner alone before or what. But the energy carried throughout the night to the point it made me uncomfortable because she was obviously giving me poor service and looks!!! I do still recommended because the food and ambiance were great. Just maybe go with another server. The host was great though!

All I can say is WOW! Truly impressed with the Italian dishes here. Real horseradish in the Shrimp Cocktail and absolutely delectable dishes! Lamb was superb in the Cannelloni Florentine and Chicken Parmesan was tender. Quality ingredients and the staff was delightful. Thank you so much!
