Fried okra is whole so you know it didn't get poured from a bag. I got the Creamy Cajun stacker and husband got the Smokehouse Stacker with brisket. The brisket was thick and tender and delicious. Our server was very attentive. Will definitely be regular customers. We want to try everything on the menu now.
LISTEN TO ME go to Famos Smokehouse, the food, service and atmosphere is all on point! Not sure what to get? Try the Famos Dip on Parmesan bread. It bumped Cactus Pete?s (Jackpot NV) for the best dip in the United Stated. You will want to go back, you?ll dream of taking loved ones and showing them what you?ve found, you wonder if you could recreate these dishes at home and every time you are within 100 you?ll scheme on how to swing back in to try the next item on the menu.
Famos Grill is a fun spot in Carterville, MO. It is in an old Dairy Queen so it is pretty small think 10 tables. All the food is prepared to order so it comes out hot and good. The owner is super nice, the staff is friendly, and the prices are good for what you get. We had the had the homemade pasta and it was very good. The sauce is more savory than sweet with a nice balance of fresh herbs. Overall, you can?t go wrong with Famos!
We had the daily special. Taco boats with pulled pork. And loaded fries. Both were awesome. They were fresh and tasty. The brisket and the pulled pork were both delicious and fell apart in our mouths. Service was excellent. So worth the stop if you're in town!
Actual turkey breast on the club (not just turkey lunchmeat), nice leafy greens in the salads (not just iceberg lettuce). This place may be small, but they served us four outstanding dishes unlike what you'll see at a typical restaurant. It was hot, but we still chose to sit outside. They have fans to keep the air moving. Service was great!!!
