Taste Of Italy - Carthage

I'm giving it only four stars because of the fluorescent bulbs they use inside. Very cold looking and not warm at all but a lot of tables were full and this was on a Sunday when the Chiefs were playing. I also had to wait about five minutes to get acknowledged after I walked in to pick up my take out order but not a huge deal. Still, some of the best New York style pizza I have ever had, and I am from NY. I've been wanting to try them since moving to Carthage and they did not disappoint. Fresh toppings, great crust (which is what makes it for me). I'm really surprised that they are making such great pies. I also tried the Caprese appetizer which was also very good (I think for the price that some bread should be included). Everything was packaged nicely as well.

Food is okay, atmosphere is very cafeteria like and the waitresses are sweet. However, the owner/chef yells at the staff in a very demeaning way, right in front of the customers. It's very disturbing and after several times we've quit going. He needs a muzzle.

Good food, will def be back! Now they have pizza too. My husband always orders the chicken Forrest. I prefer the tomato soup.

We had a bad first impression of Taste of Italy, but the owner clearly loves/cares about his customers and the food is worth the visit. There was a misunderstanding around getting additional bread where we thought we were going to be charged for it, and then our waitress, ended up with a much larger table that made it difficult for her to check in on us and so drink refills had to be had by asking passing waitresses. The owner came by to check on us and apparently picked up on an underlying discontentment when I replied that the experience was okay... and rushed to address it quickly. Their bread is so delicious and with the main dish portions are more than enough to fill you. The sauce for the bread bread tastes like it was made with fresh tomatoes and the waitress told us the bread is made in house. What a great, free appetizer! The side salad house dressing was as my wife puts it, Light and refreshing . As a added bonus we had piano music while we ate. Overall a five star experience with the efforts from the owner. Please give them a visit!

The food was delicious. Had the pasta trio and everything was cooked perfectly. The device was friendly and fast. Will definitely be back.
