From the best cakes I've ever had to fancy stacked desserts to the best baklava outside of my mom's, Asali has it all. They have the basic cookies, chocolate cake, and lemon bars, but they also have such wild treats as baklava cheesecake, triple chocolate mousse, and kenefa creams. Their seasonal flavors are also amazing. Today I enjoyed a blueberry pancake cake slice with maple swiss buttercream. It's wildly good. This is my go to place for desserts, special occasions, and just needing to get out after working from home.Dietary restrictions: There are gluten free and vegetarian options though they do not claim a contamination free space
Sigh, I had high hopes for this place from the moment of finding it on Google up until getting our goodies boxed. In our precious treasure chest of treats was baklava cheesecake, the Lotus cake, and a normal slice of baklava. Once home and ready to dive in, my fellow dessert lover were sorely disappointed. The baklava cheesecake tasted like any frozen cheesecake you can purchase at the grocery store, and the baklava layer atop was just kinda...lying there on top, zero cohesion. Furthermore, despite the cheesecake coming with a simple syrup to drizzle over your slice, it was still rather dry. Speaking of dry...wow, was the Lotus cake dry as hell! As my partner mentioned, a boxed cake has better texture and flavor. But wait, there's more! The frosting on the Lotus had such an odd texture like there was too much stabilizer in it...pretty tough whilst gelatinous if you can imagine that.Baklava slice, meh.Had high hopes, sorely disappointed.
This place serves freshly baked gourmet desserts, macaroons,Turkish delights like baklava, kenafa, savory bites and also varieties of teas and coffee. A sweet place to enjoy some fresh brew along with delicious desserts!Highlights- •You can reserve a spot for High tea with your bunch.•Customized cake orders for special occasions.
Service was friendly. 4 stars though because 1 of the 3 desserts they gave me was wrong and it had to be corrected (which it was).I have been stalking Asali on Instagram for months and was super stoked to finally have an opportunity to try some of their desserts. Have to be honest though, I was disappointed. I ordered the Kenafa cheese, peach mousse, and baklava cheesecake. The Kenafa cheese was my favorite--unique and interesting mix of savory cheese and sweet sauce. The peach mousse and baklava cheesecake didn't have any flavor. If I had been blindfolded and given both I dont think I'd be able to tell the difference. The baklava itself was good, but the cheesecake and mousse were interchangeable.I'd come back for another try (I want to like them so much), but my excitement has been tempered.
The staff here are mostly rude. Was in many times, only one of the many staff members would greet with a hello or good bye. A thank you is rare when you are done ordering. The proprietor 's male partner would glare at me when I walked in. Proprietor would avoid eye contact.
