Camoes - Cascais

We had two great meals here last week, sat outside watching Cascais go by. Luiz looked after us both times and he was brilliant. He made us feel very welcome. We had Sea Bass and steak and cheesecake and Carbonara and steak and all were very tasty, particularly the sauce with the Portuguese steak. The Pouca Roupa Sauvignon white was a lovely find. Recommended by Luiz.

If you like listening to loud, foul language while trying to enjoy a meal with your wife then this is the place for you. When I politely and quietly spoke to the offending person I was met with aggression from him and his fellow thugs and was informed to sit down and shut up because they were the owners of the establishment. The waiters did nothing. Apart from one who did apologise as we left, having decided not to finish our meal. There are many, many nice, friendly, good quality restaurants in Cascais so there is no need to choose this one.

The service was very bad. They forgot to bring the juice of our daughter and after trying to find the server and ask for it he did tell us that they do not have actually this type of juice. Her spaghetti arrived after 1 hour. Specially if you have small kids and they are hungry or thirsty do not go there. This service was not child friendly at all and you kids will stay hungry and thirsty which is quite challenging with small children. That we the adults had to wait also more then 1 hour for the food was not the best can happen but for kids this is definitely the service you want to have.

Fuimos a ver la pintura de un par de platos que llevaban los camareros a pesar de no tener mucha puntuación en un tripadvisor. Los camareros estaban muy atentos para aconsejarnos y comprobar que todo estaba bien, pedimos un estilo francés y un bacalao gratinado, no sé si serán los mejores pero era rico y con una buena cantidad, también teníamos agua, una pintura de cerveza y un café y pagamos. Creo que no puedes pedir más, lo repetiría sin duda.
