Osteria Cacio E Pepe

We spent 12 days near Siena and this was the only restaurant where we were two times. Why? Because of the excellent food! But why only 4 stars then? Unfortunately because of the service at our 2nd visit. The restaurant was full at this evening, there were two waiters (as they were during our 1st visit), but it was just too much for them. The waiting time was very very long which was kind of disappointing. I suspect that there is also only one cook which was the reason, why everything took so long. The food? Nothing else than excellent! You can order whatever you want, EVERYTHING is perfect!

This place is simply amazing. It's simple food made right. Their puff pastry filled with bufala on a layer of prosciutto is to die for. We went here 2 of our 3 nights while staying at Dievole. All the food is delicious. They have a great wine list to accompany the food. I highly recommend this as a must stop at locatio while in this area. I thought I had more photos but they won't upload. Trust me ...go!

This was our first stop on our way to our hotel in the Tuscan countryside, and it was perfect. It is a charming, local restaurant with personal, efficient service and the food was outstanding. There seemed to be many locals in there for a Saturday lunch, which is always a good sign. Highly recommend!

In un posto bellissimo a pochi chilometri da siena, noi e il nostro cane siamo stati accolti con tale gentilezza in questo ambiente confortevole caldo. cibo delizioso, in equilibrio tra tradizionale e contemporaneo. Le ragazze sono davvero buone. raccomandato
