Los Molcajetes Mexican - Castro Valley

We had dinner today over there. We came from the Livemore outlets and found them on Google. What got my attention where the Molcajetes and the variety on the menu.I had carne asada Molcajete and the sauce was delicious, the beans with chorizo tasted good and the carmen asada was soft and didn't smell bad which is hard to get because usually beef has a smell I don't like.They gave us hand made tortillas and that's a big plus.My husband had Chile rojo and it was good. The sauce was great. 10/10. The serving was big!My sister had Milanesa de Pollo. It was good, the chip sauce was good. It was also a good size.My kids had chicken strips with fries and my daughter hamburger and fries. The fries were good.Our waitress was very friendly, we change from table once to a bigger one. She gave us a big one, but I wanted to seat on the sofas, but it was too small and then we change table and she was nice and tell us to seat whenever we feel comfortable.Other two employees went to ask us if everything was OK and it felt good because usually we are not asked that often at other places.The music was good. The atmosphere was good. The place is nice and the prices are also good. We will come back whenever we are on the area or want to eat Molcajete.I love the picture frame of a man making a Molcajete.The candies were unique at the end. Parking: Plenty of parking in front of restaurant Kid-friendliness: They are nice with kids and have kid options un the menu. They even gave us a special glass cup for my son's Jamaica, but with a handle so he can hold it.

I bought a breakfast burrito here it is so simple to make but it was full of only beans Bradley any rice or any chorizo. Chips were super stale.

The chips were nice and thick and salsa were great not that spicy. Able to hold that good salsa.Servers were beautiful and very kind.Nachos I had shredded chicken very good nachos.And the candy they had was one of my favorite. Pepper mint and the strawberry. Which came with the bill.Drinks were also goodDisabled friendly as well.

I was very disappointed with the food. I came here with 4 of my friends, and we all said the rice and beans were bland. No flavor at all. And the flan I had taken home wasn't even flan. It wasn't even sweet as flan is supposed to be.Maybe this place needs new chefs because a good chef would put a lot of love in their cooking!! Good food brings a lot of customers!!

If you want Great Mexican food this is the place, Friendly staff, Great service. Busy little place but the service and food came out quickly. The food portions were big and the food was very good. Great friendly happy atmosphere. We will be back
