Firewheel Cafe Hyatt Regency Lost Pines

After I read a great menu on hyatts website of this restaurant and admitted to a reservation, I was very disappointed when we checked in and told it only buffet. when I asked if it was a night, they said no, and that it has been buffet for years and hyatt has simply not updated the website. I went next to the bar restaurant and wait with an hour, we decided to try the buffet as we were all hungry. hind sights, we wish we had waited for the other restaurant. the buffet was “South of the border” themes. that was terrible. her basic Mexican restaurant would be ashamed of eating this. only good dinge there were roasted vegetables and tortilla suppe. the rest was quite rough considering how much they calculate. for two adult and two children our bill was $128 plus a tipp. that was just eating and not containing alcoholic drinks. for what we paid, it was unacceptable to eat. the only good thing about our dinner was that our waitress was great and attentive.

The breakfast buffet is really good, but the dinner is not at all. poor food quality and only a buffet offered.

We booked the NYE election time on the FB page. I received a call on 30 and asked if we wanted to eat in the ballroom or in the restaurant. I asked what is better and they brought us to the restaurant. they called again at 7:40 to nye to tell us that we could come early since fireworks began at 9:00. very late. we arrived at 8:30. if we had arrived at our reserved time, there would have been no service when the carving station was wrapped around 9. the menu was not what was described. the buffet was almost over. there was brisket and wasted, but none of the described meal times - no prime rib; no oysters. they were from the cry I ordered. they were out of the hay, we were disappointed. we ate, paid our ticket and went. I don't think we were properly informed about the event.

Celebrated New Year’s Eve here. Good was ok not impressed and not much selection .

Our family had dined at the Firewheel cafe for Christmas in 2020 and had a very nice experience; however, this year was pretty bad. The food on the buffet likely would not have passed any kind of inspection it was room temperature at best. The buffet line was dirty w/ food spillage along the counter. Instead of cleaning the dried food mess employees were just standing around chatting. Essentially you had to interrupt them to request what you wanted they didn't automatically offer to assist you. The waitress that served our drinks stood there staring at us instead of greeting us and requesting our drink order. Service was also exceptionally slow especially given how few people were dining there. Overall, we were very disappointed in our dining experience there this year. Last year I recommended this place to others I will not be doing that this year.
