Fratelli's - Charles

There are two excellent Italian restaurants in St. Charles county; Fratellis and Donatelli's bistro in Lake Saint Louis. Fratellis is more casual, Donatelli's is slightly more formal. Both have amazing food and excellent service. You can't lose with either one. Fratelli's has the best toasted ravioli on the planet! Their salad is also amazing. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of their dishes. You will not be disappointed!

This place is a joke. Seriously! Do the people who live here not know what Italian food is? I should have suspected how bad it would be considering the entire staff, kitchen staff included, were a bunch of teenagers in shorts and t-shirts.We sat at the bar and unfortunately if you sit on the end closest to the register you’ll constantly have strangers hovering over you while you eat and they order or wait for their takeout.We were offered bread and butter and what came out was the equivalent of store-bought-pre-sliced white bread, not toasted or even warmed, with a side of cold butter packets.The toasted ravioli that we ordered was like warm at best. Our drinks were fine and our salad was fine, but the veggie pizza was the most disgusting thing on the planet! It had a liquid cheese sauce on it instead of real cheese and it would pool off the slice as you picked it up. My husband, who will eat anything, wouldn’t even touch it. So basically an entire pizza went to waste.And the bill for this entire meal was WAY too much for the quality of food that we received. What a very unfortunate experience and an absolute insult to real Italian food.Do yourself a favor and make the drive downtown for some real/good Italian food. You’ll thank me for it.

Best salad dressing anywhere. Super busy always so plan ahead for a wait.
