This place was a totally rip off.... OVERPRICED!So, the cashier made me go outside of the store and wait until the 2 customers there leave because I didn 't have my mask on (even though I am fully vaccinated). So, after they left, he never let me know if it was ok to go inside the store. Once I knocked on the door I got in and when I was checking on the products I wanted 2 guys got in after me and the cashier told me that I needed to make it quick for him. I was like: what did you just say? And I continued: I was waiting outside the store and you didn 't tell me anything right after the 2 previous customers left and he didn 't say anything else but just body expressions like: it is what it is! I walked out the door not without telling him first: You don 't need my business then How rude! Never coming here again! Don 't buy liquor here! So disappointed!
While I was waiting for someone to check me out, the cashier politely asked if I needed a bag. As a Chicago resident, I'm aware of the $0.07 bag charge, and I was feeling gracious enough to overlook that. But then I noticed an additional $0.25 charge for one of their bags! That really upset me. It’s a small amount, but it gave me the impression that they don't care about their customers. When it was time to pay, the cashier asked if I wanted to use cash or credit. I chose credit, and then she went on to add more fees. Confused, I asked, “Wait, there’s an extra credit card fee?” She confirmed there was a 2.47% surcharge, all while doing some complicated math that just made things worse. You’d think a place with such high prices would factor their transaction fees into their pricing, but apparently not. I didn’t see any signs indicating this charge. At this point, I decided I was done with this place and wouldn’t be returning. Here are my main grievances: 1. Their products are way overpriced. 2. They charge for bags. 3. There’s an additional fee for using a credit card. I spent $23.47 on a similar order at Binny's, while here it came to $35.45—and that was before the credit card fee. This experience is precisely why small businesses like this struggle to survive. It's emblematic of their poor customer service.
Beware of this place. They will try and take advantage of you . Manny and Juan suggested a champagne which was really wine to my girlfriend . At which time refused to refund the wine because they don't do refunds or exchanges even though they suggested a wine and sold it to her with the impression it would be a champagne . Shop at your own risk! Extremely overpriced as well!
