The Elvetham Country House Wedding Venue

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon, and we had a lovely time. The room was very spacious and comfortable, the service was good and the meals were very nice. We did have trouble with some pigeons right outside of our window keeping us awake in the early hours of the morning, and we found the breakfast setup a bit bizarre (one morning it was a buffet, the next not, both times with few staff available to help), but otherwise we had a lovely time exploring the grounds and the local area. Hotel has the potential to be wonderful but main areas downstairs very cold and unwelcoming.lighting and colour scheme dark. Rooms need to be heated/fires lit. Grounds amazing and lovely. Bar food was not good at all however the evening meal was lovely and very well presented and tasted amazing! Breakfast was wonderful too. Lots of choice and every taste and need catered for! The hotel and grounds are beautiful and you can spend hours exploring the grounds. The staff are very helpful and polite with a good sense of humour as well. Barry and the staff our absolutely fabulous! They made us and our dog Brooke feel right at home. The property is stunning, breakfast in the conservatory perfect, great dog friendly environment and lovely walks around the perimeter of the property. For a real treat, try the pizza in the bar. Takes a little while, as I suspect it’s made from scratch but well worth the wait. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in some of the best hotels around the world and staff her could hold their own with any of them. Only critique, perhaps softer pillows would be nice but I’m a complete bedding snob, so don’t hold this against them. : We’ll definitely be back!!
