We sat pretty fast and waited 20 minutes to see from a waiter who just showed us to let us know they were from the Thanksgiving special. Has not offered to get drinks, etc. We only have our menus and left. Until now it was obvious from the whispers that everyone around us had a terrible experience. We finally got drinks at 9:00 and had to beg for bread and appetizers we received at 9:30. We finished the steaks that came at 10:00 and were cooked cold and over. The manager finally came around and offered 50% of our meal, which was not enough for inconvenience and the ruined Thanksgiving evening. I will not blame the servers because they did what they could, but the administration was so aggressive. We were there for 3 hours for cold food, bad service and dirty toilets. I will say we visit this place 3-5 times a year, and this is the first problem that we are? ve had, but definitely could have been handled better.
Celebrate our anniversary with Eddie Merlot. We've been here for a few years. Very nice to see that the service is still top notch. Started with a glass of champagne, followed by 2 Maryland crab cakes on a bed of corn relish that we shared. That was delicious! The ordered entries were the New Orleans mixed grill. Consists of a 4oz fillet, black shrimp, sausage with garlic potatoes. I added a chopped salad with the housevinaigrette. My husband ordered the rib. Added potatoes, Mac cheese. All supplements are ala carte and large enough to share. My fillet was so tender, it was as if it had melted in my mouth! Perfectly cooked. Probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was also the perfect size along with the shrimps and sausages. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and had great taste. My husband enjoyed his experience. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it. We were served in honor of our jubilee a cream bubble. I've never been a fan of this dessert, but we were pleasantly surprised how good it was. Added a coffee with Bailey's with dessert. We both look forward to the return and maybe try the Bison.
What a treat! We celebrated our 39th anniversary. I noted this when I made the reservation, and everyone that came by wished us a happy anniversary. There was also a card on our table that was signed by everyone. We had the greatest server, Kyle. Every move he made was on point, from suggesting menu items to bring out everything we needed. We started with the appetizer of pot stickers. They're stuffed with filet mignon, and the sauce is lightly sweet and tasty. The dumplings are moist and dense. Caesar salad comes with anchovies optional. I haven't seen that option in a while, and they were great: richly salty with a touch of bitterness. It complemented the delicate dressing quite well. The steaks were impeccable. Perfectly seared at the right temperature. The peppercorn sauce had the right amount of spice. Wild mushrooms and sweet potato casserole were served family style. The potatoes were sweet and creamy, the mushrooms were flavorful. A creme brulee was served to honor our anniversary. It was on the house. It was smooth and silky, with a crunchy seared sugar crust, garnished with raspberries and a sprig of mint. Coffee was served in a press, not my favorite way to imbibe, but it came with cream, whipped cream, and a bit of chocolate. Quite classy. The ambience is elegant, but people came and went in surprisingly casual dress. All the servers were friendly and attentive. This is a culinary experience you don't want to miss. No mistakes or missteps were made in this perfect night out.
We have been trying out some new restaurants during restaurant week. Eddie's was the second steakhouse we have tried this week. I have to say Eddie's is far superior to Morton's Steakhouse downtown. The restaurant week meals offered are similar as far as selection goes. We did get the Truffle Fries as an app. They are good, I'd suggest you ask for some garlic aioli to go with. The food at Eddie's is all made in house and it shows. We had the salmon and the filet. Both were excellent. The mash potatoes and green beans are great. Salad in on par, and both the ranch and blue cheese are obviously made there. The chocolate cake and carrot cake were also good. So, if you have to choose between Morton's and Eddie Merlot's. Eddie's it is.
Let me say this place is Beautiful, our server was AWESOME! We were out celebrating our wedding anniversary of 17 yrs with some family and close friends. The low star came because of the steaks ugh.. ! Out of the 4 differnt steaks ordered only one was seasoned well and prepared right. My husband steak was supposed to be med well but was tough and not seasoned well, another steak was over cooked, another undercooked. This was everyone first experience and there were 12 of us! We were the first group to arrive at 4pm so the restaurant wasn't crowded. We expected better steaks for the upscale place with the upscale prices. The differnt salmons, burgers, crabcakes, and all other food was delicious. The management was very apologetic and offered free desserts and tried to get the steaks prepared right. We said that we would try this place again, because the service was awesome!
