First of all. Remember booking through the hotel website, they offer you a better price. Location is wonderful. You won't miss a thing!. Tube is really 2 minutes away and there's a bus stop in front of the building. Staff is not very friendly, at least the one who checked us in. There is another access to the building avoiding the reception, so you don't have to see them until the check out time. We spent the week in a junior suite, which is not as spacious as it seems in the pictures, although it was enough. Otherwise, it is as dark as usually hotel rooms are. Terrace is antique, but nice. The chamber has several European sockets and six mirrors. Wi-Fi runs ok. The cupboard is small for a week and the hangers are not enough. Ipad conection is the old one. Bed is really comfortable. There are two pillow's pair and also pads. TV has a ingenious way of hiding itself inside the table, saving lot of space. The bathroom is huge and hot (underfloor heating) but, take care with the roof's shower, it splashs the whole room. Features are correct. Hair dryer is powerful (Babyliss), towels are nice and, moreover, there are bathrobes and slipers and, of course, gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower cup, cotton, tissues, etc. Continental breakfast is free but not worthy. Coffee is nasty. We preferred buying our own stuff and use the kitchenette. The fridge is large enough. The hotel serves you two free spring water's bottles everyday. You can rent a cab in the nearby corner to Gatwick airport for 62 pounds. There is also a Greek Restaurant behind the hotel, named Kalamaras, really wonderful (open until midnight). Enjoy London!
Overall a good experience, we found a very nice hotel near Hyde Park, two tube stations in a beautiful neighborhood. Our room (314) was spacious, very clean (a part for stains on the carpet). Nice view of the chimneys that I found quite romantic and typical. The service was always ready to help us with little problems we had, especially when I forgot MONEY and very important bank cards in the drawer the day we left. The honesty of the staff has been very appreciated. Unfortunately I'm afraid to book with you again because I came with my girlfriend and two other couples who spent the same money as me, but they were not so lucky with the room. In fact we were on the third floor differently from them that happened on the first floor and on the lower ground. Last thing: we made the reservation on booking.com and I believe that if restaurant is VEGAN, this should be highlighted. We found this info a small info box in that site only after the check in.
I found my room was small but very practical and decent value for money. The bed was comfy and the shower was great. The location is very close to the tube. The only downside was the doors slamming in the corridor at night.
The hotel is in a great spot next to all the needed trains and buses to get you anywhere! The food was good (although I am not a vegan) we did enjoy the hotel, the hotel did give us a remodeled room so it all looked really amazing. There was some noise from the underground trains but I'd say that was really the only issue.
