Fonda - City of New York

I?ve been going to Fonda for well over a decade and it?s still enjoyable and worthwhile every single time. They have a few locations around the city and all of them serve a time tested menu of fan favorites. Mezcal margs, guacamole and stunning enchiladas always find their way onto my plate.

Loved the food. Everything was so fresh. Highly recommend the guacamole starter it was delicious! They have a specific vegetarian/ vegan menu so if that?s something you prefer, make sure to ask for it. They have a lot of options for vegetarian/vegans. I had the spinach and mushroom enchiladas which were really good. Portions are decently sized I was quite full by the end of the meal so unfortunately couldn?t try the sweets. Food was good (except for the smoky red picante) but the Manager was really rude. We (table for 2) were there for a little over an hour and had just paid the bill. He came to our table to tell us we needed to leave because he had another group coming for dinner 10 min later. We weren't ordering more drinks or lagging behind. We were literally getting ready to leave. Meanwhile, the place was empty and another group near us, who had been there much longer than us, wasn't

The setting feels very romantic with the little candles they have in the middle of each table and feels very comfortable to be in. Our server Remy was nice and quick with service. The food was amazing and spicy just the way I like it and couldn?t ask for anymore.

Neighborhood gem for Mexican in Chelsea. Spicy and very fresh ingredients, with friendly service. Poke was good, the chicken entree I had was excellent. And the traditional Mercian sides were done right. Popular for good reason!
