Cozumel Mexican Cantina - Clarion

Tucked in the corner of a musty and crusty motel 6. The restaurant itself appeared clean and well-kept after walking through a lobby that reeks from the accumulation of 50 years of smoke. The prices are on par with about any other Mexican restaurant but the food leaves much to be desired. Portion size, taste, presentation and overall quality are poor at best. Most certainly not worth your time.

I wouldn?t recommend this place to my worst enemy. So bad. Flavor of the food so bland. Salsa needed salt, beans runny, didn?t taste like beans. Pina Colada margarita was so bad. No flavor! Building smells musty and a cigarette smell? our waitress was polite though. Over charged on our ticket as well. So be sure to check your ticket. Just NO..

Food was horrible, ordered chicken enchiladas and just plain shredded chicken in corn tortilla No cheese sour cream nothing. Place smelled musty , should have walked out then but figured it was from the motel 6 it was adjoined to . Only went on because it had great reviews. Won?t trust trip advisors or website again. Not 4.5 stars awful

Chips are cold and hard, salsa taste like tomato sauce. Tortillas are not fresh. I have never send my plate back but it was pretty bad. Mole, rice had no flavor. My husband's enchiladas sauce was bland. My moms taco salad ground meat had no flavor. All three of us did not enjoyed our meals. I'm Mexican, I know for a fact this is not authentic Mexican food. We paid our bill, left a tip, (it's not the waitress fault). Visiting from San Antonio TX. Never again.

The food here is outstanding and one can get what amounts to a gallon-size margarita. No matter the size, the margaritas are excellent. However, the place has an awful musty smell to it that is most notable when you first walk in. After a few margaritas you don't notice it so much. It was such a distraction that my wife and I almost turned around but ultimately stayed and enjoyed great service, food and drink. If you don't mind that distraction, it is very much recommended.
