So much to choose from and the buffet price is a great deal. Wish we could visit again soon butit will be awhile since we live in California.
Just go. Eat the barbecue. It?s all good. It?s where I take company and out of town business associates for barbecue. You can get SC yellow mustard barbecue, NC style vinegar barbecue, plain, and a red. They are all good. The hash you have with rice (we only have that in SC for the most part) is very good. They have vegetables, coleslaw, and potato salad of course. Youwill not go away disappointed. I promise you.
Came here for lunch with my friend around 2:50 pm. Had some excellent customer service, everyone was friendly and made us both feel welcome. The food was perfect, everything was hot and delicious and there was no need for any extra sauces or anything. Iusually judge any place with soul food by their collards. Let me just say i was back in the line for 3 helpings of it ????. Thecollards were wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perefection. The restaurant itself was very clean and the staff was attentiveat taking care of us and everyone around us. It had that home atmosphere that makes ya feel like when you come again everyonewill remember you. I can't wait to go back! ???? I appreciate places like this that actually let ya feel welcome. Wonderfulexperience.
It used to be very good. Maybe it's suffered due to the pandemic. The fried chicken and sausage seemed to be either sitting on the bar all day, or cooked the day before and reheated. The vegetables had no flavor, and the banana pudding was old and pickedover. This place used to be top notch, but I'll give them a pass because of Covid.
The restaurant seems to have a great reputation but the food-truck part of it couldn't be worse from my experience. I was attending a track event at Spring Valley HS on a Saturday morning and I ordered the stone-ground cheese grits. What I got was aheap of barely lukewarm sludge with a pile of cold shredded cheese thrown on the top. I told the guy that the grits weren'teven warm and that I wanted my money back. He gave me back the $5 but didn't say a word. He looked like he just rolled out ofbed and couldn't care less. I get it that not everything can be perfect and mistakes happen, but the terrible, totally uncaringcustomer service convinced me 100-percent I'll never try that establishment again. Cheese grits are hard to screw up but theymanaged to do it. Attentive customer service is easy and this guy failed miserably. And I have to imagine I wasn't the only onewho walked away with the same impression. One star seems generous based on my experience.
