Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWhilst out for a dog walk we called in for a drink. Being respectful to diners we sat outside with the dogs. It’s a shame that outside seems so unkept and un welcoming. Dead plants in baskets, fag buts surrounding and litter wedged between the benches. The ground looked like it hadn’t ever seen a brush! Not the most inviting but we didn’t have much choice whilst on foot! At least my husband enjoyed the tribute!
What a lovely pub! We visited for a drink on Saturday evening great atmosphere and lovely friendly service. Real ales I’m told were great, red wine also very good. We returned for Sunday roast the next day very simple and unpretentious delicious home cooking, it comes ready plated with 2 veg and big fluffy Yorkshires. £14.95 really good value. The puds were homemade and fab. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
Beautiful Sunday Roast… just what we were looking for! Calm…chilled…good food well looked after! Will definitely be back!
A large party of my family went for Sunday lunch to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Just two negative points. Most of my family have said about their disappointment in their roast dinners. The roast potatoes were terrible. There were too many on a plate and instead of this more greens would be amazing. The potatoes were too hard, it was difficult to get your fork into the very hard surface of the spud and the inners had a tiny bit of potato. It would be brilliant if they could either do homemade roast potatoes or buy some good quality frozen ones. Also, can they do something different with the Yorkshire puddings. Most of my family had a negative comment about the roast potatoes. I hate complaining but my message may help them. I really like the Weary Friar, it's a fabulous place!
Lovely place, quaint location down Cornish lanes, food was pleasant and staff were friendly very old building with many many tales to tell. Filming location for beyond paradise was a lovely surprise too.
