The Castaway Club On Lake Alexander

I took my grandchildren for an early supper. We sat outside so the kids could play on the little playground. The waitresses put up umbrellas in all the tables but ours. It was very warm and sunny. Our waitress was not attentive at all. She spent her time talking with her table that was buying drinks. We sat in the hot sun waiting for our bill. I asked for 3 take-home boxes as the kids didn't eat much of their supper. The waitress had brought their beverages well before our food ever arrived. She brought one. We went early to avoid them being busy, but it made no difference. The service was still unsatisfactory. Will not go again.Kid-friendliness: There's a small playground.

Food and drinks were huge let down and so expensive. The cockails were way too sweet and the food was low quality for the prices. I had walleye which had some odd sauce over it that made it mushy. No one else like their meals much either. It seems like new owners are trying to be fancy with interesting meals and ingredients but the quality is nowhere near what they are aiming for. We've heard from multiple others they have had similar experiences. I really hope they figure it out because I don't think they'll make it with the low quality of the food as is now. Service was good though!

This place used to be amazing. It's a disgrace now. Makes me literally sick. (Don't get the stroganoff). What a shame. Hope it turns around soon.. start with the employees and maybe fix a few things, (door handle)Food: 1/5

We went to Anchor North last night. I ordered chicken wings. They came with wax paper cooked on each piece I sent it back. People we were with ordered the onion blossom it was totally raw. We enjoyed it so much better as the Castaway. I hope it gets better.Food: 1/5

Can’t tell you how good the food was because we never got served. We were told to ‘sit wherever’ and were never approached by a server. After 10 minutes, one of us went up to the bar twice once to ask for menus and again to order a drink. We decided we might have better luck if we were sitting inside so we moved inside. Ignored for another 10 minutes despite plenty of eye contact. After at least 25 minutes of waiting and actively trying to get served, we decided to leave.
